The following
rules and guidelines, revised in September 26, 2005 were approved
by the Victoria Chapter, American Petroleum Institute (API)
Executive Board on September, 2005.
THE MISSION OF
THE VICTORIA CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM IS TO FOSTER A CONTINUING
SUPPLY OF QUALIFIED PROFESSIONALS FOR THE PETROLEUM INDUSTRY.
A minimum of Fifteen (15) scholarships each Fall and Spring
semester are to be awarded out of the Scholarship Fund. The Amount
of the Scholarship fund shall be determined by available funds
less reserves as determined by the Executive Board on or before
August 31st of each year. The executive board will exercise its
best effort to provide a minimum of $10,000 for the Scholarship
Fund. The quantity of scholarships may be reduced for the
following reasons: (a) The number of qualified applicants is less
than fifteen, or (b) the resulting award would be less than
$250.00. The maximum award amount is $2,500 per semester. Award
amounts are subject to change due to funds availability. Scholarships
will be funded prior to October 15th for the Fall semester and
prior to February 15th for the Spring semester. Each recipient is
limited to a maximum of 8 semester scholarships for undergraduate
study.

EXTENDED BENEFITS:
At the end of a
student's four year (4) scholarship, benefits may be extended if
there are not enough qualified applicants to receive the quota of

BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE API RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CHANGE AND
AMEND ALL RULES AND GUIDELINES AT ANY TIME THAT IT DEEMS
